Hello, I'd like to build a computer for about £1,700.

A typical computer for streaming and FPS gaming.

I'd also like it to be Intel.

I'd obviously remove the Windows license, but I wouldn't change the rest. 5070 Ti is overkill for 1080p, but you want high frames, right?

265K isn't the ideal choice for this usage, but I assume you're aware of that?

Yes, that's true.

I don't quite understand. What do you mean by 265K?

I'd also like to ask what processor I was considering.
Intel Core i7-14700KF

I suggested a 265K in my original post, they're the best value (in my opinion) from the Core Ultra/15th gen line.

The problem they have, is that while the multithreading performance is very good, their performance elsewhere is inconsistent.

If you're primarily going for high framerates at low settings/resolution in FPS games, then AMD's X3D CPUs are superior.

I wouldn't recommend buying 13th-14th gen anymore with their reported problems and multiple microcode patches. Not unless you're happy to just accept the extended warranty and needing to RMA the CPU if necessary.

To summarize.

Let's say I have £1,800.

Looking at the computer you built, it came to £1,700. Removing Windows cost, left us £1,600.

So we have £200 to spare.

I don't want to build something I might have problems with later. If I could build two top-of-the-line computers for £1,800 on AMD/Intel,

what would it be?

Ps. I have no idea about building computers.

You can't build 2 top if the line computers for your budget you could just manage one and then it's not top of the line.

You asked for Intel when AMD X3D CPUs are betting for gaming and on top of that you have no idea on building so I'm guessing you need a pre built pc or will you give it a go and build yourself ?

For low resolution high refresh gaming you don't want Intel, going the AMD X3D route is by far your best option. Depending on the games you play that might make a difference in GPU vendor.

I'm talking about two units up to £1,800

I will assemble it myself with the help of a friend who knows how to do it (he is from another country)

GTA, CS, COD, Black myth, fc26. and I really care about streaming.

Here are two suggestions, one is AMD/AMD, one is Intel as requested, with nvidia card.

The first case is a more regular style case, with an air cooler. The second is like the fishbowl style, with an AIO/water cooler.

As for the motherboard and processor, it is only available in pre-order, do you prefer a replacement that is available immediately?

The 265K? It depends on your needs for the board (how many USB/SATA ports, M.2 slots, audio jacks/spdif, etc) and if you want to do much tuning with the CPU. You could buy anything from a modest B860 board at around £150 (e.g. Prime B860-Plus), to a midrange Z890 board like Asus TUF Z890-Plus.

CPU: you could get the 265KF, but personally I don't recommend losing the integrated graphics, so I'd suggest (if it needs to be ordered now) that you have a look..., around.

Hi, I hope it's okay to revive an old thread.

My budget has changed a bit, it's +/- £2000.

I've done some research and reading.

I'm starting to consider a setup with a Ryzen 7 9800x3D and a 5080 graphics card from PNY (I found it for £919).

I need your advice on whether this is a good combination and the rest of the components for this setup.

With a Ryzen 7 9800x3D and a PNY card, it's £1320, so let's say that leaves £700 for the rest of the components.

The combination is fine. The rest of the parts, it is difficult at the moment because everything has gone up, so it is best to be flexible (to take advantage of what deals are left).

The Sapphire board in my post (#12) still looks a good deal for the price/features, only snag is we don't know what BIOS support will be like. The Asus is more of a known quantity, but you can swap with any B850 board that has similar features.

Memory: the Crucial 48GB kit is £180 now at OCUK, which is not worth it.

PSU: I increased the capacity from 850 to 1000, but 850 is still enough for the 5080, it just gives you more headroom.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £721.92 (includes delivery: £11.98)

OP, If you shop around you can get the Thermalright Royal Knight 120 for £24 (don't know why OCUK doesn't sell this one) with free delivery. It doesn't interfere with the memory so you won't have to lift the front fan up.

I'm gonna keep things simple, with an easy job done post!

Thank you very much for your help.

One more question about cooling. The computer would definitely look better with an AIO cooler.

Will the Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro fit this combination? If not, any suggestions?
