New Build £1k Budget

Thanks Stulid, and while we are at it this may seem obvious, but I presume with these PSUs (leadex superflower) only the motherboard power cable has to go in a specific slot in the PSU and all other power cables I can put into any part of the PSU?

Yes that is correct. All the 9 pin sockets are universal so you can plug any 9 pin connector into it. The ones for the motherboard are 12 pin and 18 pin on the psu housing.

Ok almost ready to boot up, however two issues bothering me;
1. The mobo cable is 20 + 4 (i.e. to connect into the motherboard) and the +4 connection seems loose, and even came out when I moved the PC from one side to another.

2. The Case (Phanteks Enthoo Pro) has a sort of board on the side of it with a bunch of connectors in it. And the only output from it says CPU fan, I presume this means to plug it into the Sys fan 1 socket. No idea why it says to CPU fan as ofc the heatsink and main CPU cooler goes in the CPU fan slot.

Edit: Ok nvm 2. I think it is to do with PWM modulation or something, I suppose I just take the fan connectors out of there and plug them onto the main board.

Any ideas on issue 1 still?

Does it matter if I put the 4 pin in first then the 20 (Note: I didnt I did 20 then 40)?

1) The 4pin should have two little plastic bits that stick out the side, these sort of sit under the 20pin section ridge shape near the top of the plug.

If that makes sense, so the 20pin is kinda holding the 4pin section down.

2) Thats the integrated fan controller and yeah stick it into system fan header.

Hmm sad to report that when booting up all I got was a few clicks from the PSU, the LED connectors lit up, and then nothing. No fans started spinning or anything =(.

Will have to check it out in the morning;

Things to check I already know of;

MOBO Power Connectors (though I assume they are ok as I see the Power Switch illuminated)
CPU Power Connection, again pretty sure it is ok.
Header switches, heard something about maybe + and - being the wrong way.

Anything else to add?

Things to check,

8pin next to CPU plugged in.

If the power ON/OFF was wrong way around it would'nt make a difference, all the button does is momentarily short the two pins together.

Can you post some pics in case theres something obvious you've missed.

Disconnect all drives and GFX card so you have board/cpu/cooler and a stick of RAM (thats all you need to get into BIOS), hook monitor directly to the board.

Cheers for your help man, Here are links to some pics. Note it is a mess in there.
No point tidying up till it works lol

I will try taking one stick of RAM out tomorrow, and also try booting with no GPU. However I would have thought that when RAM
and GPU are the issue I would atleast see some fans starting up. However there is nothing that sounds like power is going anywhere,
literally nothing for about 5 seconds after pressing the button, then a flash of the PSU connector LEDs then nothing. I thought issues with these are normally
POST issues.

Move ram to red slots as they are better.

You cooler fan needs to go on other side. So it's not fighting the rear case fan.

So air is being blown through the heatsink right to left and then out the back of the case.

The fan should have some arrow markings moulded on the plastic frame showing direct of rotation and air flow, but also it's generally the nice looking side that is the one to have facing out.

Are there any codes on the eight digit display thing on the board.

I just changed RAM slots and changed headers around and changed Mains power connecctor, this time it is in a boot loop (i.e. boots I see number 55 on the 2 digit display on the mobo, stays alive for about 15 seconds and all fans are spinning), I dont see anything on monitor display, but that could be something to do with using HDMI, the MOBO has no VGA/DVI port.

Could it be the 3GHz RAM sticks?

Edit: Also tried removing one RAM, also tried putting one RAM stick in another slot. Also tried both sticks in both slots again.
Even tried no RAM, all result in LED Debug Code 55

Only thing I can think of is to try reseating the CPU.

Can i confirm that it definately cant be the 3000MHz memory? Otherwise i wld try buying slme 2133MHz If i boot with no memory and still get code 55 it has to be CPU right?
