New build 2500k

CPU temp at 100% load with PRime95 running torture test is stable at 70degrees now.

Core 0 is 3 degrees colder than core 1, 2 and 3 however...does that mean the heatsink is slightly skewed?

I've tightened all screws down now btw.

Just ran Skyrim at Ultra for 1 hour, Core temps where 52 degrees :) So am very happy, OC at 4.6 :)

You could run prime 95 for a few hours and/or 20 runs of IBT - but it will still have to prove itself stable in every day usage.

And if it remains stable over the next couple of weeks after general use-and-abuse then it's job done.

I've noticed that the Cpu voltage goes up and down according to load, I assume that is since I use the inbuilt overclocking function rather than doing it manually.

Is this a problem, and if it is would you recommend doing a manual overclock?

If you have the green features enabled then the CPU will stepdown to 1600Mhz when it's idle and your voltages should read ~0.98V (or similar).

Not really for 4GHz, in fact it's a bonus as you get advantages of lower voltages when speedstep kicks in rather than a fixed voltage (depending on your Mb).

I managed to get mine going at 4ghz stable so far..

But cpu temps are quite high?

And when I run the Intel Burn test

Its warning me the CPU is reaching 87 degrees.

I defaintly need an aftermarket cooler and not the standard intel one.

Should I leave it at 4ghz or go back to stocks till I sort the cooler out?

At 60 idle, but 87 under load...

That's seriously bad for 4GHZ, is the cpu cooler seated right?

Mine reaches 75c max and that's with intel burn test at 4.7ghz! :p
