New build £400-£500.

The A8 has OK graphics, nothing brilliant as its only a 6550 I believe, but enough to play games like COD, BF3 and the like at mid settings with AA turned off.

With the extra money you could get another 6550 or similar in crossfire on the board, and no it wouldnt be slower.

EDIT: Someone correct me if I am wrong but doesnt the cards have to be the same if cross fire?

I am confused ? Two 6550'S or is there a different 6550 type?

Stulid unfortunately where I am now is terrible inter webs (using a phone on edge) I am currently unable to load the review fully.
Thanks again

I'm slightly over but allow me to explain the kit and save all this confusion bacon has caused.

You can see the i3 is the better CPU it also required less power to operate. I am using a Z77 mobo which allows overclocking but sadly not of the i3 (intel K series CPUs only). It also has lucid MVP, which can use the IGP (cpu gfx chip) to boost the dedicated gaming GPU you install. The CPU supports quick sync which uses the IGP to "turbo boost" the CPU when it is doing video encoding tasks (ripping movies).

You can't OC the i3 CPU but you can the 6850 GPU to nigh on 6870 performance (£120 GPU) and remember lucid MVP is already giving that GPU a boost. So lots of bang for buck there.

This Z77 mobo only supports running a single GPU. THe confusion on the AMD socket was hybrid xfire, the A8 APU can be paired with the 6670 and they work together to improve the quality of graphics. It's like lucid MVP but it doesn't work on GPUs higher than the 6670. The 6850 really is the minimum GPU you should be considering to try and forfil your expectations of gaming in high quality.

The PSU is overkill but is a bargain at that price (you could save around £10 here), it's modular and priced the same as it's 600W lil bro. 8GB of 1600mhz RAM is ample for gaming, the mobo has room for you to fit more if you ever wanted to.

Hope this helps, any questions or god forbid issues come build day, come find us
