Hi,

Looking to build a new PC. I have just £500 to spend, so hopefully enough for a dual core PC.

Basically i dont do a lot of gaming but would like a gfx card in the pc that competes with a nVidia 7600GS. Is Intel the best option at the moment for pcs on a mid budget?

Would be appreciative if someone could spec me with an AMD pc, and an Intel one. :)

Overclocking isn't important ;)

Many thanks for any help you experts can give ;)

intel with conroe is the best "bang for buck" option

Do you need everything down to keyboard n mouse for £500??

Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - OEM (CP-135-IN) - £126 inc.

Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-061-GI) - £108 inc.

G.Skill 2GB DDR2 LA PC2-5400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit - £140 inc.

Thats the first three done. 7600GS would be ok for the graphics like -

BFG 3DFuzion GeForce 7600 GS 256MB DDR2 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-026-BG) - £72.
