Hey guys, Just recently finished building a family PC, so far so good......runs and touches wood

Seeing as I enjoyed it so much I'm thinking of putting myself one together, a lot better specced however

The budget is in the Thread title.

Uses:

Hd Movies ( Blu-Ray player would be nice)
Occasional Gaming (MW2, Football Manager mainly)
Streaming Media to XBOX 360

I would also like it to create a film library, will be hooking all this up to my HD TV, so we be nice to have a virtual movie collection.

Also in the future I would consider buying a monitor, so would it be possible to have something that outputs to my TV and a Monitor simualtaneously?

Necessaties include: Keyboard, Mouse and a version of Windows 7

Thanks in advance!

Not really, An i7 Build would be nice though if it's possible, the AMD 6 core processors also appeal, I'm not really up to scratch on grpahics knowledge

What about that, I can add a GPU at another time

Don't skimp on the PSU that and the mobo are the keystone to a good system!

I've mentioned this on other posts but i'll repeat here. Most games don't use more the 2 cores so a quad core is wasted. However...... some mobo's support ACC which can unlock hidden cores. You could buy a phenom II X2 555BE and end up with an X3 or even an X4. Google phenom unlocking there is plenty of info.

This will save you £s but you wont compromise on power or mobo spec. It's worth buying an aftermarket cooler incase you get all four cores running, worst case it's an X2 but the heatsink will help you overclock the CPU.

Good luck with the build

Oh on the display front, check the port on the back of the tv. My LG LCD TV has a d-sub (vga) port and HDMI. Some tv's use DVI. If you want to use more than one screen check the display ouputs on the graphics card. Most will have HDMI and dual DVI.

So in theory (as i dont know what you own) you can run hdmi to the tv and DVI to the monitor. You get the idea just check your connections to see what's poss
