Hi,

Hoping someone could help me with a build for a friend.

He's a graphic designer (Adobe CC suite) and would like a new PC, he has a budget of £2K and would like a 4K monitor (maybe dell??).

We've been chatting about two GPU's but would the Adobe suite work with two in SLI?

Thanks

You could use something like this, I've used a quadro card in the system on the assumption that it'll be used purely for content creation

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £2,064.49
(includes shipping: £15.90)

From what I know about CC it can utilise 2 graphics cards but they don't need to be in SLI for them to be recognised by the software, I'm no expert on the software though so I could be wrong.

You can change the spec if you click on the link as well if you wanted to make any changes for yourself.

TBH you don't need a Qudro card unless you want to do something that needs more GPU memory, and as such I wouldn't recommend a GPU with only 4Gb of video ram for CC, as that includes After Effects and Adobe Premier, both of which benefit from massive amounts of Vram. Source

EDIT: As for the multiple GPUs question here's NVIDIA's answer. Remember that geforce cards are just as good in these apps as their Quadro brethren.

We have 6700k and overclocked 4ghz 5820k systems at work.

Personally I find the 5820k systems more responsive.

We Have 970 graphics cards.

A two screen set up would be nice. One for running the Adobe programs and t'other for web browsing and the like.

Budget in buying a top notch drawing tablet, Wacom is a Photoshop preferred one I believe.

I just looked on OCUK... Jeeeeezzzz never knew they were so much.

I got one for under £100 but a pro would need an expensive one.

Photoshop etc doesn't really benefit from more threads, but rendering will of course, so I'd also support your suggestion for getting a 6 core over a 4 core CPU. Something like a 5820k + 32Gb ram + GTX 1070 would be great.

EDIT: Oh and wait for microsoft's new announcements today! Might just be exactly what your friend is looking for and more.

Thanks for all the replies and information, I'll go through it all and put something together if that ok.

He has a MAC now but wants something that better bang for buck which is why he's pricing a PC.
