Hi, I'm looking to build a PC for around £700-800 as my current set up is really struggling, my son would like me to play some sim games on Roblox with him but my 4690K and 970 GTX is just too slow.

I do not need a case as I have a full size ATX case that I like and, my current 1080p montior is fine for my needs. Although my son games at 1440p and it looks sharper so I may upgrade at some point.

I do not play the latest games but enjoy WOT and AOE4 occasionally. I've put the below together based on things I've read and I am just after some critique or wonder if I get this cheaper/there are better options. These were all things that were in stock at the time as I am looking to purchase this week as I have the time to build it. I have no prefence over colour matching/RGB.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £811.88 (includes delivery: £7.99)

nice little build
only thing I'd say is if you can stretch to the 9060xt 16gb gpu, that's a 34% uplift in gaming(make sure the 16gb version, not the 8gb)...cheapest I've found is £320 for the sapphire pulse though..amazon prime weekend they were down at £299 at various places...giessing they all need to raise prices a bit otherwise nothing to drop for black fri

could offset that with getting something like the pny xlr8 32gb 6000C36 rgb ram for £80...that'll save £30 of the difference
also shop arround...seen the 7600x for £157 today saving £13 there as well

Build looks great. I agree with the changes that @Craig_d1 mentioned. If you are able to, stretching to a 9060XT 16GB will you give that extra uplift in gaming, and should help with that future 1440p upgrade that you mentioned. I doubt that £320 will drop within the next week, but worth shopping around/setting price alerts on the off chance of a price drop.

Don't forget to use the free delivery for forum members before you buy, as I believe you qualify for it. That'll save you an extra £7.99 off the basket you've listed.

Thank you for your input. I watched some reviews of the 9060XT vs the B580 and I cannot believe the general difference in performance for most games. I think the sensible thing here is to fork out that little bit extra so that’s what I’ll do. Thanks again.
