Hello,

I am wanting to build a new machine for the home music studio and wireless storage/media around the home for the other machines/tvs/game consoles/mobiles & laptops

Anyway, for the music part all i need is a decent sound card. Which is simple however i need some advice what is best to do

I have a really nice and compact mATX case would i be best to keep this and build in that with say a 500gb HDD, sound card and a normal GFX card as i dont game.

Then have a router connected to say 3TB worth of HDD to wirelessly access around the home.

Or would i be better with building a full ATX pc, meaning i have to purchase another case too and then place everything inside the case and do it that way.

To be honest, i would prefer to keep the mATX, however there is a few things im unsure about with them. Can i still get fast PC speeds with the mobos and are there only certain processors i can get?

Please help

thanks :)

mATX boards are just like their longer cousins in terms of capability and processor choice. They generally aren't suited for overclocking and they offer fewer expansion slots, neither of which seems to be a problem for you.

So you already have a mATX case? Which one? Do you need a PSU? How many 3.5" bays do you have?

How much are you looking to spend?
