New build advice please

I have just recently upgraded my pc to the following
asus rampage 2 extreme
i7 950
12gb Patriot RAM
gtx460 x 2 SLI
gelid tranquilo cooler
Thermaltake Armour Case

The CPU is running 45 degree idle (stock) and hot under load, it went to 90 whilst running 3d mark

Anyone know why it might be running so hot?

Take the cooler back off, and see if the thermal compound has made good contact, but only do this if you have new stuff to apply or you have only recently fitted the cooler and the paste is still relatively fresh.

Def try reseating your cooler, getting quite toasty.

Are you overclocked?

Make sure you've taken the plastic protector off the base of the cooler.

Thanks. Cooler was seated 2 days ago, and she is not overclocked. What do you reckon the temp ought to be?

35'ish at Idle using an educated guess.

With my i7 I got around 40c idle and with a overclock of 4ghz got load temps of 70c tops With the Thermalright Ultra.
