Hi all,

I need 2 new PC's and was thinking of getting them pre-built from OCUK. I have built my last 4 so could be tempted to build again instead. I was looking at the 'Titan Storm'.

Could I get much more for the same money building myself or do you think this spec is fine? With the newer mother boards how simple is it to overclock the 5820 to about 4GHz?

They will both be used for gaming, and one will be also be used for video editing and after effects, plus heavy design work including photoshop, illustrator, indesign, and maybe some 3D rendering. I would lower the ram to 16Gb on the second machine.

Price for each anywhere around £1500-2000. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hi Stulid

I will need OS, not worried about keyboards/mouse. I have a 1080 currently but was looking at getting a couple of 1440's. They are separate from the PC build costs.

Those look good Stulid - thanks.

Would they be easy to overclock? I am not sure how the newer motherboards are.

I've just read up and I'm guessing I don't need 8.1 pro.

Is the cooler on the 'gaming' PC better than the one on the others? I think I can lose the DVD ReWriter's, and do you think that a GTX 970 would be enough for now?

And the main difference between the two bigger builds is the processor and memory - I would have thought the 5930 would have been more expensive than the 5920 - not the other way around!

All sounds good, I'm going to have a look over everything and then work out a final list, thanks for the advice Stulid! :)

I wasn't sure about the black - I have always used WD and never had any issues, I read some people had problems with the Seagates? I was debating a red or a green but wasn't sure about speeds?

Will the cooler be enough if I overclock? Is it quiet too? I was also wondering why I wouldn't use this instead of the watercooling on the gaming PC? I was debating getting the same case for the gaming PC too - it seems better, looks nicer too, and would match.
