Hi so I am thinking about changing a few core parts in my current system as it is no longer cutting it.

Current specs are:

Antec 1200case
Tagan 800W psu
E8500 CPU
Freezer 7 Pro cooler
OCZ reaper 4gb 1066ram
Asus P5K premium motherboard
Geforece 760 graphics card
1tb HDD and 500GB solid state
Creative X Fi sound card PCI 1x
G15 and G9 keyboard and mouse
Win 7 64 bit
1080p monitor.

Ideally I would like to re-use as much of those components as possible (especially the case and PSU).

My uses for the machine currently are playing RTS games, diablo 3 and recording/streaming games at 1080p. This is currently a problem as I get major lag, out of memory issues and the cpu often reaches 100%.

Budget is circa £500 and I will build the PC myself (over clocking also).

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated and let me know if I have left anything out.

Thanks ;)

How much better are the 960 and 280x over the OPs 760, apart from saving a bit on his electric bill?

@OP is that Freezer Pro 7 the old click on cooler or the V2?

Hi thanks for the responses so far. For now I'll keep my gfx card as it's probably cpu bottlenecked at the moment. Looks like I'll be needing a new cpu, motherboard, ram and cpu cooler.

The freezer is the old clip on one.

I would chuck in the new cooler, CPU, mobo and RAM RJC suggested - the cooler will be required as the old Freezer 7 Pro doesn't fit LGA 1150/1155/1156 and the OEM CPU doesn't come with a stock cooler :)
EDIT: or even better the below :P

Very nice! Before I take the plunge a few questions. Will the hsf block any of the ram partnered with the selected board above? Is there much overclocking headroom with this board?

Thanks

Also is 8gb ram enough for streaming these days at 1080p or is 16gb a safer bet? I have win 7 home premium 64 bit so should be able to use up to 16 gb I believe.
