Hi everyone

I am looking to build a new PC so thought I would come to those in the know. Ill be coming from an I5 6600 and 1070.

I only need to build the PC as I have mouse, keyboard and monitors, my main monitor is a 1440p curved screen if that helps.

Pc is used for gaming on different games from Escape from Tarkov to football manager and everything in between and it is also used for photoshop and editing.

Budget wise I think is around £1200 give or take, less if it can but also i can go a little more if the jump up is worth it.

Not really sure on intel or AMD etc as only real experience of AMD previously was a really hot running GPU that was sent back so I guess I am open to suggestions or advice on this.

Thanks for taking the time and if i have missed any needed info please let me know.

Build above looks good, but i would get a NVME drive without a heatsink and use the motherboard cooling plate.

Something like this as a example.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £137.99 (includes delivery: £3.99)
Thanks Freddie, quick question why would you go for 1 without the heatsink with costing same, genuine questions as im intrigued as with my limited knowledge i would have gone WD over Kingston but im probably wrong :)

Thank you, i have seen the 9800x3d mentioned for gaming is this a big upgrade over whats listed for the £400 plus cost?
It's about a 25% performance increase on average in games best to check reviews, personally would wait till prices drop and market becomes flooded then sell the 7600 for £100.

M2 get the one without the heatsink as the motherboard has heatsinks, .

If you use the motherboard heatsink, you would have to remove the one on the NVME and that would void the warranty and they can be a pain to remove.

I would normally recommend the WD but it costs £20 more at the moment.

I personally would avoid daft priced SSD's on a £1200 build, get something like an SN580 for £85, and used the saved budget for a 7900GRE, SSD isn't getting you any frames ever, at all on any planet.

Ah OK understood, didnt realise you would have to remove it and dont wanting to be voiding any warranty's the way my luck is lol

ok thanks for advice, The SSD looks like its £99 on here so only £35 saving and regards the GPU would it be a noticeable difference? as i could technically do both if it is worth it.

I would do it it's a step up in GPU performance and go for the sn 770 it's an extra £5 over the sn580 but worth imo.

What's worse is the OCUK fake discount again, why do people even buy anything here? How can something be save 17% then go up in price and you are still saving, misleading and should be illegal.

Think £85 will have been BF sale price, that ended on the 2nd and would have changed later in the day.

The £100 sale price will be the Xmas sale price.

A yes a DFS sale, where there never real is an RRP and its always on sale. If you believe that is OK, then you might work in marketing.
Think most sales are DFS sales. :D

Never used Photoshop, but would it bebefit from a NVME with DRAM cache?

For a GPU i would go either

AMD 7800XT or 7900GRE if budget allows.

Nvidia RTX 4070 or 4070 super if budget allows.

Again, not sure what would work best for Photoshop.
