Here is what I was thinking of buying

Intel Q6600
Abit IX38 QuadGT Intel X38 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
OCZ 8GB (4x2GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz Quad Channel Platinum Low Latency XTC Series DDR2
Asus ATI Radeon HD 3870 XT 512MB GDDR4 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail
Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (WD5000AAKS)

Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-620HXUK)
(Ive been told this would be more then enough if I wanted crossfire)

Western Digital Raptor 150GB 10000RPM SATA 16MB Cache
Western Digital MyBook Studio 750GB USB2.0/eSATA/Firewire 400/Firewire 800 External Hard Drive (WDH1Q7500E)
Pioneer DVR-215BK 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM
Samsung SH-S203PBEBN 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer Lightscribe ReWriter (Black) - OEM

Zalman ZM-STG1 Super Thermal Grease, 3.5 g bottle

Everything seems fine, and yes the psu will be more than adequate, other than maybe 8Gb is overkill imo.

Hard drive wise, raptors are no longer the best around considering price/space; many people will recommend a samsung spinpoint F1 320Gb over a raptor as they are faster and a lot quieter. However feel free to choose a side. :p

Thank you for the reply, I understand the point about the drive, but id rather stick with the raptor for now :)

Plus ive orderd the system :D

I did post early but it was a LOOOOOoooong post and no one replied :*(

But I am happy with the choices, I was wondering if it would be possible for me to over clock this with the memory to about 3.2GHZ ?

I need 8GB I do some video and photo editing, and I always have a few apps running at a time, its cheap so why not?

Thanks again for the reply :D
