New Build Advice

Hey Guys and Girls,

Just wondering if you could help me out. I cannot find if the RAM is compatible with the mobo. I have checked the official site but cannot see it anywhere. If anyone else foresees any other problems I'd be grateful if you could let me know. I already have a Corsair 620 PSU from my old PC that won't even boot into the bios any longer.

That memory should work fine.

That RAM will be fine, but you do know that the HDD you've chosen is a 5400rpm one?

That's because it's the 'Green' energy saving one which is fine, but seeing as you're going i7 I guess you want a performance rig? If you have another faster HDD you are planning to use for your boot drive then fair enough, but I wouldn't recommend the one you've chosen if it's to be the boot drive.

IMO you should be looking at something like the WD Black here - it's £15 dearer but I think it'd be a far better boot drive for you.

I didn't notice that thank you for pointing it out. Your right. I want a gaming rig that will last a few years. I went OTT on the card because I have a 1920X1200 screen and judging by the games shown at e3 I am going to need it. On the subject of the GFX Card I notice from pictorial evidence that it has an 8 pin power adaptor and a 6. I'm confused by this. Sorry for the silly questions I didn't expect my current rig to break and everythings so different now. DDR3 GDDR5 etc
