I'm going to be putting together my first build for Christmas and I'm curious to your opinions on what parts I've chosen so far and when you think the best time to get the parts together would be. I already have the CPU from the sale on Saturday, missing out on the 7970 by 10 or so minutes :(.

Mainly going to be gaming, playing games such as Borderlands 2, Battlefield 3, WoW and hopefully Space Invaders if it copes. Should be overclocking in the future.

Intel Core i5-3570k
XFX 750W XXX Edition Modular
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo/Noctua NH-D14
Gigabyte Z77-D3H
TeamGroup Elite 8GB (2x4GB)
Sapphire HD 7870
Caviar Black 1TB

Planning on getting a Sidewinder X4 keyboard, and a Storm Enforcer ATX Case. Unsure on what I should do regarding my optical drive. Also going to use my TV for a monitor for a month or so, to give me more to spend on components. My budget is around £800, allowing for a little more if justified. Will get an SSD after monitor.

Any and all comments/help is greatly appreciated

Your power supply is enough for a second graphics cards, but your motherboard doesn't support it.
Either upgrade your motherboard to the z77x d3h, or drop your psu down to 550-600.
I'd spend a bit more on your graphics card, if you can stretch to a 7950, that would be better.

Thank's for the fast replies, When would you suggest purchasing the parts to get the best deals? Is there a few extra deals going in in the next week or so for black friday?
