Quad core, nice case, better gfx card

memory wise get 2x2gb if you really want 4gb, take it you're running 64bit vista or winxp to make use of it ?.

would look at the western digital 500AAKS hard disk.

P182 is meant to be a decent case so should be ok.

as sg spec'd better to get 8800GTX over sli'd gts'.

thanks guys,

The main reason I put the two BFG GeForce 8800 GTS is becasue they have a lifetime warranty. The last two cards I've owned have both ended up in the bin after a year or so even though they weren't overclocked.

As for the ram, is it generally better to use the 2x2 Gb over 4x1 Gb?

Dont go for SLI GTS, thats a no no. Go for a single GTX.

same if not better preformance from one card for near enough the same price. plus if you wanted to go SLI later you could get two GTX's :p

Two years warrenty with the OcUK card i believe so they will last longer than a year :p

EDIT: i was wrong only one year warrenty, pay a bit more and get two years warrenty with Leadtek or £40+ vat more to get the BFG with lifetime warrenty, a little over budget but you get the security of lifetime warrenty

Can you elaborate why?

Sure.

At this point in time SLI is a waste of money since most games out their are not optimized for a SLI configuration. The ones that are which is very few dont offer double the performance, it just dosent work like that.

The performance you get out of buying that second card for SLI does not justify the cost of buying that secod card.

Single card soloution all the way.

ok,

what about this then...it still has the life time warranty.

BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC2 768MB
626MHz Core, 768MB 2000MHz GDDR3 Memory

Higher core speed but the memory is slower than:

OcUK GeForce 8800 Ultra 768MB
612MHz Core, 768MB 2160MHz GDDR3 Memory

but only 2 year warranty...I want this thing to last!!!

same as stickroad and my other post. the OcUK is a good price card that is better than SLI GTS.

and like i also said, £40 + vat more will get you the BFG GTX which gives you the peace of mind of lifetime warrenty

I've changed my order to

BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC 768MB

and

Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX

better?

EDIT: I can't wait for this thing!!!

ok but the 1Gig sticks have a CAS of 4-4-4-12 but the 2gig sticks are 5-5-5-18

Is this worth worrying about?

I know would be filling up my slots with the 4x1 but when it comes round to next upgrade time i'll probably need to get dd3 any way....

thoughts?

DDR3 wont come down in price for a while and at the minute it is sky high.

as said by mp260767 the timings between the two will only show if you are a hardcore bencher.

the 2gig sticks will be fine
