Hi all, new to the forums here great to be back in the uk scene.

Before i start i would just like to put up my current specs ;)

Asus P8Z68 V-Pro
Intel i7 2600K @ 5.1ghz/1.475v (24/7) w/ht
4GB Corsair Veng 1600 7 8 7 21 1t
Palit GTX 680 2GB @ 1234/1721
Corsair H100 Push/Pull 4 x Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm 5400 RPM
Corsair TX enthusiast v2 850w PSU
2x Corsair force 3 120gb raid0
2 x WD Green 1TB HDD raid1
Antec 1200 v3 (best investment i ever made ;D )

Ok here is the situation..

My son just turned 16 and has been using my systems for years to game and surf etc and also helps to build them as i upgraded over the years, something we both enjoyed and enabled us to spend some quality time together.

Anyway I promised to to get him a top notch gaming system for his room this year for his b-day which was set back a few weeks due to problems at work ad so on.. but im now ready to purchase the bits n bobs for him to build him-self.

However it has been a good while now since the z68 and sandybridge came out so my knowledge on currant hardware is limited now.

My budget is pretty strict £800-850 for everything except the monitor.

Will look forward to seeing the damage and thank you.

Yes I will at some point be buying a decent gaming mouse and keyboard.

That list is very good for the price however i think i would be better off waiting an extra 2 weeks and adding an extra £200 to the budget. I just think it would be better in the long run to add a quality corsair or seasonic PSU and something along the lines of a ASrock Extreme6/ Asus Z77 v and H80/100

The rest looks fantastic, the RAM is amazing value from what ive read in the reviews thank you i would not have seen that ;)

Could you spec out a gaming mouse too please (I grew up with the controller) but he used m/k also thinking of the antec 902 v3 case as will be adding a custom loop in the next few months so i can add more oc as and when its needed over the next few years.

all in all looks good

Doom wouldn't get the Asaka PSU. Not as good as some out for the same price and I think only comes with 2 6/8 pin connectors so cant x-fire 7950's.

To be honest im going to go with the corsair TX v2 enthusiast 750w I have the 850w version and its run sli gtx 680 oc with 4 500gb hdd and cpu @ 4.8ghz in the past with no problems at all

the 750w version also includes 4 6+2 pci-e for sli if i ever go that way which is doubtful s its only for the little man.

I really could do with a decent gaming mouse specking out though he plays BF3, COD, WOW, RES5 pretty much everything.

One other thing id like to know is will the antec 902 be big enough to add a custom loop to later on or will i be better going that bit extra for the 1200 v3 The case psu and ssd is all thats left to buy now and i dont want to have to send the 902 back

cheers guys

Hey guys, just found out this morning that my order did not process for the parts i purchased yesterday due to my company and banks complete and utter incompetence (I have just moved back from the u.s after 5 years) so i now cannot buy everything at once.

I am very sorry to inconvenience you but for the time being I will be buying all hardware once a fortnight and only £180-200 at a time.

So... as i am under a bit of pressure to get this going would it be possible for you to help me choose the parts which would get it up and running asap as i said in my earlier post i am going to up the budget a further £200 to a total of £1050

I have made the first leap and ordered the CoolerMaster Half X for £102.00 leaving me £98 this time round so i can either wait till the next order and have £298 or use what is left and purchase Mobo HDD RAM etc What do you guys recommend ?

update: changed that to the same case as mine antec 1200 v3 £121.99

Help ~gulp~

Okay guys everything is sorted now finally got paid and everything but a HDD has arrived.

I have come to a interesting dilemma now though. I have a Gigabyte HD7950 installed that is only 3 days old and i have been offered a identical card 1 month old for £150 and i am very tempted as that would would be capable of playing every game probably out in the next 2-3 years? So before i do a couple of questions...

1. What is the likely hood of micro stuttering occurring
2. Is my corsair TX v2 750w PSU powerful enough to handle 2 x hd 7950 with cpu @ 4.0ghz
3. Has anyone used Radeonpro before as ive read a lot of reviews saying it is awsome for crossfire and stopping micro stuttering sometimes comparing it to being better than single card use.

Also still need a good gaming mouse specking, having to use a old 1600 dpi one at the mo

cheers again fellas,
