Hi,
I have put togheter new build:

Maximus Hero VII
4790K
Gigabyte GTX 980 G1.
BENQ XL2430T

I have installed windows 8.1
I have installed drivers for motherboard, graphics and monitor.
The problem is that ALL images/videos look like I would only have 256 colours available only.. (Faded, very little amount of colours)

Is the monitor correctly identified in the Nvidia control panel? resolution etc all correct.

What cable are you suing to hook upto the display? is it seated right? try a different cable.

Yes the resolution is correct, it has 32 bit colours (boot looks like 256 colours)..
It detects the monitor fine. Its hookedup DVI-Dual Link

Try the inferior VGA (dsub) cable.

If it looks better then the cable is broken or not inserted correctly.

I will get this cable tomorrow from work.

1) Is there a way to check if GFX has problem (i.e disable it in bios and run from integrated graphics?)

2). I will check the cable.

3). I will install all windows updates and re-install graphic

4) I will also plug the screen to my laptop

Pull the card out, hook the monitor up directly to the board and try that.

You may have to install the Intel HD graphics driver from the mobo disk or from the intel download center website.

I will hold on with pulling out the gfx.. I will first try different cables + plugging my screen to laptop.. Generally it all looks now a big pixelated and I am wondering if there is a chance that it just displays more details.. and shows more imperfections.. because I was always watching stuff on old 17" laptop..

MIs there a chance that this is the case?

It generally looks like transitions between gradients are not smooth everywhere.. Is there any7 setting for "smoothing" ?

Can you press print screen on the keyboard and post an image up on here (thats if it it looks like what it does on your monitor)

I also started skyrim now on ultra details.. and its completely messed up.. (All shaking, can't see a damn) Also I think that when I first turned PC through my integrated graphics.. the BIOS had a lot better resolution.. Is there a chance that I didn't install the GPU correctly?

The GPU will either work or not.

The Microsoft lock screen image and indeed desktop images arent the sharpest things in the world.

Download 3dmark and see what that looks like, or Heaven benchmark.

Its performing normally.

Go look at some hi res images of plants or insects or something and see if they look like what they are meant to be.

Thats what my stock desktop Microsoft image looks like.

Looks like crap right?

The camera in skyrim was just spinning around.. it looked all messedup./ but I downloaded a save that skips initial intro.. and the game looks awesome.. flawless on ultra.. so I dont know... The stock graphic looks super****.. do you think this is why my lock screen also looks so ****?

Tftcentral has a review for the previous version (XL2420T) which wasn't a great screen for colours (TN panel), even with calibration. You could try changing gamma mode as explained in the review, might work depending on how similar the 30T is to the 20T.

Out of the box average dE was 5.4 which was poor. We have already established that the default FPS 1 mode is aimed at gaming uses and it not set up for accuracy. It is possible to improve the accuracy of the screen by making some OSD changes which we explained in our earlier sections.

Skyrim with 144Hz is broken.

Goto Nvidia control panel and set the monitor from 144Hz to 60Hz and try that game again.
