Anyone able to improve on either? you will note theres only 1 SSD, i have a spare im going to put in also, so no need to purchase more than that 1.

I wouldn't be considering an i5 in a build of this budget myself. If you're not thinking of Crossfire, you could also save a bit on the PSU (any decent 600W is fine).

Note that this graphics card doesn't include BF4 and doesn't unlock to a 290X, you can get one that hasn't been flashed and with BF4 for the same price.

If your thinking about watercooling i would definately include the GPU in that.. They are loud and toasty with the current stock cooler.

I have BF4 already so not interested in another copy. I want the phantek case and ultimately will put a loop in so figured spending 100 on a h100i would be a waste. Besides the case plus loop is on a little more expensive than case plus h100i.

Dont think I can wrangle a 290 plus an i7 into that budget with case and loop. Could lower the psu but wanted to garauntee I had no power issues for while. Let me look and revise it

You can sell BF4 though, that money can always go towards something useful. The H100i is fine as a CPU cooler, but isn't going to compare to 'proper' water cooling.

The 4670K is great for games looking backwards, not so good for games looking forwards, in my opinion. I think the i7 and 8350 are preferable.

850W is aimed at dual GPU set ups - a typical build with one GPU won't be using more than about 350-400W total on average.

Well for a start the 2400Mhz RAM kit is the same price so might as well use that fella.

Yes it's a very different basket but I'd be tempted to run the refurb'd H100 till the pump fails, can always butcher it to reuse the rad perhaps when you want to do a custom loop? The 780 is more cash but you do get games bundled with it, as Doomedspeed said the 290s reference cooler really is a bit pants.

All the best with it bud, we really look forward to seeing what you settle on :)

I got a better looking basket but on me moby now so will post tomorrow. Its got an i7 and still keeping most of the other bits including the wc phantek case and 290. Those 2 items are definitely being bought. I can live with the noise from the 290 til i put it under water after a few weeks

If you intent on the above,. spend the extra £15 on the G45 motherboard. It support Xfire properly, so gives you a massive upgrade boost.

Thanks for the tip Doomed, i have a similar AMD build in mind also, not sure if you noticed but ive tried to keep it all themed Black and Red too haha. The AMD bundle is pretty much the same except with the HIS 290 unlocked to 290x with BF4, 8350 and Crosshair V mobo.

There is a 290 on offer today at £300.

Even comes with BF4 and a silver game ticket to pick two more.

4770k is a better choice
