I am building a new frills PC next week to replace my old system and have come up with the following. I have opted for a 6700K processor instead of going Extreme or some other edition to keep it simple.

Do you think my old MX100 512GB hard disk is enough to store a few games on?

I have also opted for a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB M2 however i read that this M2 only works at 6Gb so is there any point me going for this model or should i change for something that can make use of the M2 slot?

PSU i believe is maybe 300W larger than what i require but for a couple of quid i do not mine paying more. Would it be more energy efficient if i was to get a psu around 600w?

The Noctua CPU cooler i am not too sure about, would this be ample to cool the cpu down if i am gaming? there are other coolers out there but the noise seems to be much higher. I have also seen a liquid cooling heatsink that links to some fans, are they better than the noctua?

The Cooler Master Silencio, is there a better mATX than this? i need a 5.25 drive bay because i have a blu ray writer already and i need it to backup data and off load it to bluray disks. other nicer cases i have see do not come with the 5.25 bay and i do not wish to put it into a caddy.

Motherboard, Gigabyte GA-Z170MX-Gaming 5 is this really better than asus as i have been asus all my life?

Finally the monitor Asus ROG SWIFT PG348Q 34.0" 100Hz Monitor, do i need a display port 1.4 to display port 1.4 cable to make use of the 100hz. I had a quick google and can only find version 1.2 the only 1.4 are dp to hdmi.

I am moving up from a Dell ultrasharp 30" so this will be my first wide screen monitor and a brand other than dell. Has anyone any exp of asus returns? I know dell is nbd replacements.
