I have just upgraded my hardware and fitted my GTX660 to it from my old system but I can't install the Nvidia drivers as it gets part way through then fails.

Also I cannot see any display adapters shown in Device Manager either.
I did install all the mobo drivers first so why is not shown in Device Manager.

Make sure the card is pushed all the way in to the PCI-E slot, what drivers are you trying to install?

I did try the very latest but then tried a older version that I knew worked on my previous hardware.

At the moment I am just using the graphics provided on my Ivybridge 3570k which does appear in the device manager as a display adapter and yes I did disable this in bios prior to trying to install the Nvidia drivers.

My nephew reckons it could by my ram causing the issue as it is about 6 years old and not fully compatible with my new up to date hardware and the fact I keep getting random BSOD as well aint helping.

I am getting delivered some Samsung Green ram tomorrow so hope that helps.

You can see my current ram in the sig which is actually OCZ Reaper X HPC 6-5-5-20 1.85v

DDR3 should work really, unless the RAM itself is faulty. But if you needed new RAM, no loss there.

But you've mentioned BSODs, what's the message you've been getting?

I got the Samsung Green delivered today so I installed it and booted the pc. This time a display adapter was shown in device manager and the Nvidia drivers installed without issue and so far no more BSOD. I think my old ram may have been faulty although it worked fine in my old system, either that or my new up to date hardware did not like my old ram.

Your old RAM was older, higher voltage stuff. I should imagine it needed 1.8v+ to be stable, Your new board probably defaulted it to a lot lower than that hence your instability issues. There's probably nothing wrong your old RAM provided it's matched up with the correct hardware ;)
