8gb of teamgroup vulkan gold

i was thinking about upgrading the 7970 to a r9 290x
the motherboard to a gigabit g1 sniper m5 mi atx so i can go xfire in future
the power supply to a corsair ax1200i for xfire future
and putting a h100i aio in
i have a 16gb kit i bought a while ago which is crutial ballistix elite DDR3 PC3-14900 • 9-9-9-27 that i couldnt fit in because the cpu cooler was way 2 big and they are pretty tall ram sticks

to use my old mobo

buy Noctua NH-L12 CPU Cooler
use the 8gb of vulkan
use the alaska power supply
use the 7970 in there
buy another samsung evo for OS
and buy a 1-3 tb storage drive
my questions were, do these seem like the best way to utalise what i have already?
will all that fit in the htpc case?
and for the £1500 ill be spending is that the best way to spend it?

ill be looking to buy at the end of the month so any imput at all woul be apreciated
thanks

Sounds like a plan.

You never mentioned what case you're gaming rig is in....

As for you're upgrades are concerned;

I'd pick the 290 over the 290x, its cheaper and the performance is not much different.

You don't NEED to upgrade you're motherboard, your Asus will support Xfire (just not SLI), in x16/x4, ideally you want x8/x8 but there is a very small difference.

Please don't get the 1200i, Firstly, its not as good as the same (but somehow cheaper) AX 1200 (non-i). Secondly, theres many more 850W-1000W+ PSU's on the market which offer up as good as the corsair for a lot less money.
The prime example currently is the Superflower Leadex 1000W platinum PSU, for under £170.

The Antec 1220 is a naother good alternitive to the h100i. (cheaper too).

The GD08 is a lovely case, though with those components i can imagine it being loud and hot.

my gaming case is a CM storm scout 2. i was going to try to push my overclock as high as possible without going for a custom loop, and without a stupidly huge heatsink, so i thought upgrading the mobo might help. thanks for the advice on the power supply, thats free'd up about a hundred quid, can you recommend a motherboard sub £250 as ill have to get one anyway, one that will help me get a decent overclock will support xfire. and every review ive read says the h100i is slightly better and were only talking about a couple of quid more for it
im not planning on going for a huge overclock in the htpc case, and the 7970 is pretty quiet tbh.
thanks for the input so far
