I'm considering buying a configure your own pc from o/c firstly i own a 5770 vapor X in my current system and i'm considering using this in crossfire mode with a second one.The system i'm thinking of is Coolermaster CM690-II Advanced Case - Black, Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz Quad Core Processor,Stage 4: Overclock of CPU/Memory - 25% Overclock (Processor speed x1.25 / Max Attainable RAM Speed),I'm considering doing this myself,Akasa Venom CPU Cooler, Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard **B3 REVISION**,Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz C8 Memory Kit,OCZ Vertex 2E 120GB Solid State Hard Drive,Corsair TX 850W V2 Power Supply,Plus a Iiyama ProLite B2712HDS 27" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black.Any of you thoughts will be appreciated.(my wife will kill me).I'm only home at weekends so i can't reply promptly thanks Simon.

Definitely oveclock yourself, it will save you a lot of money.

I would also go with the MSI GD65 at the price it's at now, not sure when your buying though.

Something like this?

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor with FREE Operation Flashpoint Red River Game £161.99

MSI P67A-GD65 Intel P67 (socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION ** £132.00

OCZ Vertex Series 120GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive (OCZSSD2-1VTX120G) £119.99

Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX8GX3M2A1600C9) £79.99

Coolermaster CM-690 II Advanced Dominator Case - Black £73.98

XFX Pro 650W Core Edition Power Supply £65.99

Akasa AK-CCX-4002HP Venom CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366/AM2/AM3) £38.99

Total : £687.92 (includes shipping : £12.50).

Then add on the cost of another 5770 (I didn't put one in as I didn't know if you wanted another vapor x model. Also, I wasn't sure on the PSU, someone will have to confirm it has enough power connections for crossfire.

Also just realised you said via a Akasa Venom, not sure if you've got one already or not, but minus £38.99 if you do.

The memory mat not fit under the cpu cooler and the PSU is slightly overkill a 650w will be fine.

also, from what ive heard, overclockers arent very good at overclocking the CPU themselves. mate of mine went for a pre-overclocked rig and it would blue screen on the overclocked setting

I would like to buy soon but can wait I have looked at the ram problem but thought that if they build they would pick this up if the corsair was to high.As for the psu i'm looking to the future.Havent looked at the MSI board though. What true performance will i get from the two boards in crossfire as opposed to a single card.

asus pro and MSI GD65 both do crossfire and SLI at x8/x8, which is not a bottleneck for any consumer graphics card on the market today
