Hey everyone,

I've had my old set-up for about 6 years now and it's in need of a change so I'm thinking a lian li case, some nice fans to try and quieten down everything (A big problem in my old case). The i5 4 core processor, nvidia card, 4GB memory and a none stock cooler again to try and quieten down the case (better quality = less noise?).

I was thinking the following setup:

I forgot about the cooler in this list, but was looking at:

Using this TIM:

With the Noctua CPU Fan Im tempted to add 2 more Sharkoons just to make everything match :D

Is there anything people think I should desperately change?

Cheers,
Matt

the 760CPU is the same price.

get the UD4 motherboard for sli, crossfire compatibility.

and a psu such as the Antec new truepower 650w which has four seperate pci connectors.

and the height of the ram can cause issues with certain coolers.

ok so the new setup would be:

+ Artic TIM & Same Lian Li case

I really can't afford to go for an i7.

The UD4 for SLI support is definately a good idea, thank you. In terms of the Antec Power Supply, the quality the same as the Corsair? Memory and Power supplies have always seems similar to me, so I can't see the advantage between one and the other.

Thank for your help guys.

Go for the Pioneer, LG or LiteOn DVD drives... The Sony and the Samsung both seem to currently have a high failure rate...

I've had 3x Sony Optiarc drives die on me in the last 2 years & the Samsung seem to have the same issues looking at the shop reviews.
