Hi all,

Pc has died a death after 6 years of hard work so I think it's time for an upgrade!

I've been looking around and have seen a lot on new skylakes/X99, 4K monitors, huge GB graphics cards and the like - feel like I've been out of the loop too long to make a decision without your informed help!

PC is mostly used for gaming so was thinking of kitting it out with a 12GB graphics card (recommendations welcome!), 250GB SSD for OS install and a 3TB HDD for storage. I already have mouse/keyboard and a sound card (essence STX 2 I believe) I'll be swapping over to the new machine, but am tempted to upgrade one of my monitors to 4K with the new computer. Would also be handy if it had enough space (room in the case!) to move my old HDD over. I have RAM I can swap to the new machine also (corsair 8GB sticks I think) but additional suggestions are fine on that.

All recommendations and discussions on best options welcome, like I said I'm looking to spend around £2000 without the 4K monitor but suggestions on a decent monitor to get are welcome too.

Appreciate anyone who responds, overclockers forums have always been kind to me in the past!

Thanks all

Just to add what I'm currently looking at:

Intel Core i7 5930K (not sure if this is best option)
X99 Motherboard (same as above)
32GB 2400MHz DDR4
250GB Samsung 850 Evo SSD
3TB Seagate Barracuda
Nvidia GeForce Titan X 12GB Graphics Card
Unsure what PSU would be needed.
Windows 10 (not sure how reliable this is since recently released? Running 7 at the moment, as not a fan of 8)
Some form of CD/DVD R/W
Corsair Graphite 760T V2 Windowed Full Tower Case - Black

Comes in at a bit above 2k I believe but I'm open to suggestions around the price range not necessarily under it.

If you plan on sli/tri sli then the 5820k has 20 pci lanes and the 5930k has 40pci lanes, Whats your prefrence?

I wasn't planning on running SLI, as I have never done so before so aren't the most clued in as to what the benefits would be. I know it's running two GPUs side by side but would getting two 6GB cards (for example) running SLI have a benefit over getting one 12GB card?

Or if you mean for running SLI in the future (if I stumble across a spare Titan!) then I'm open to suggestions on what the best bet would be.

Thanks

Thanks all - excuse my ignorance but how does the 6GB GPU run faster than the 12? Also assuming when you've said grab a Ti Watlinguk you mean the same as Stulid?

Appreciate all your help, I actually think Stulid helped me on my last purchase too!
