New build around existing gpu

My desktop's components are around 10 years old apart from the graphics card a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650.

Going through college/university so the budget wont be huge (£600 Max)
but could i get some specs for a build, this would be my second build.

i have the peripherals but i need a new case and OS. my monitor is 1080p.
the build is needed for playing heavily modded games, i would like to upgrade it in the future to run more demanding games.

sorry if this is jumbled, ask about things i wasn't clear on.
Thanks

with that budget I would be looking second hand and sell the 650 as with that budget you could probably afford an old second hand 2nd gen i7 and pairing that with 650 would be pointless as you should be better with an i5 and a better gpu.

sorry for wall of text.

Solid spec from Lemin, with the exception of the case. What case do you have, could you re use some of your current data hard drives? You could then spend on a nicer case if you did need a new one!

I don't need the disk drive i have multiple spares,
and yes i likely can get windows 10 from my uni thanks
apart from that the build looks good

that i assumed that might be the case but i will wait and compare the builds from here (I'm also a bit fed up with 2nd hand stuff this computer was 2nd hand when i got it so looking for something new though i could be wrong)

The case is broken it has no fans
i guess i could use this hard drive(its as old as the case a samsung 1TB) and just get the SSD or not either of them what improvements could be made then ?

I would definitely get a cheaper i5 CPU and use that money along with the extra gained by not needing a HDD to get an AMD R9 380 for £150. Then sell the GTX 650.

I would say this also lose the hdd, dvd drive and os as he probably already has all them or something he can use

That's true second hand parts are not always the 100% you dream off I know his probably more than most :D

lets see what is the spec you currently have first see what we can salvage and probably what we can sell get you the best bang for your £
