Definetley. Intel are ahead in gaming currently as their i5's (the K ones) can be easily overclocked (hence the K2) and are clock for clock better than the AMD chips.
AMD chips have more raw power but most software and games do you utilise that power whereas the Intel chips are geared towards most modern software.
Similar to Bacon's but with different case and without an aftermarket cooler, the standard cooler that comes with the i5 is fine, unless you plan to overclock
