New build - black screen with 2gb hdd connected

I have just done a new build comprising of .... NZXT Phantom 820 Enthusiast Ultra Tower Case, fx-8350 cpu, asus crosshair v formula z, gigabyte hd7950 in crossfire mode and corsair h110 cooler

After spending many hours building this pc and adding all my hard drives which includes a 300gb velirapter as my operating for now till i get my ssd drive working and my backup drives which are 2x 2TB hard drives and 1 3TB


Now when i bootup i just get a black screen but if i disconnect the 2 2TB drives, the pc fires up and i can get into the bios but not if i have the 2 TB drives connected


Any way i can get the drives to work and get past this black screen ?

Try a BIOS update?

Leave the 2GB disconnected while you do the install on the velociraptor then attach them after.
 
I'd try d/cing the 3tb drive too. And then try a boot with just 1 2tb drive in a different sata slot. Then try them both if you can get them each fire up individually

I have tried what you said but just the same cannot get the drives to fire up, i know they are fine because i had them running in my older mobo crosshair iii

i have even tired a seperate sata controller connected in one of the spare PCI-E ports but still no joy :mad:

any other suggestions ?
