Hi there,

I've just finished my new build a few days ago and have my new RMA'd hard drive back and installed. Once or twice a day I am getting a blue screen. I also get some warning as the PC starts becoming unresponsive, slows down, freezes and then blue screens.

I've checked my temps and CPU is at 28C and motherboard at 47C. How can I troubleshoot further to determine the cause?

Firstly, check you have made all the right power connections such as the 4/8pin CPU connector.

Next try running the system with 4gb see if you get the same problem, then swap with the other four. If one set fails but the other doesn't then you may have faulty RAM. Use memtest86+ to verify this is the case. You'll need to run memtest on a single stick configuration to find out which one is the problem.

Check that the RAM is is configured correctly and receiving the correct memory voltage. These are specified to run at 1.5v but try 1.55v and up it each time. Don't go above 1.65v though.

If your memory looks ok, then you may need to check your PSU:

If you can boot into your system via safe mode, then take a good look at the system dump and Event Manager for clues. Event manager is often overlooked and under estimated.

I ran the memtest with all four sticks and got no errors.

I am using this graphics card:

and I am using the drivers that came with it on the CD. Windows Update has updated the drivers too.

Voltages:
DRAM voltage is 1.524V
CPU is 0.984V
VTT is 1.044V
+12V is 12.220 V

Nothing in Event Manager except it saying I had an unexpected shut down.

Windows updated them? Try downloading latest graphics drivers from ATI.....you'd be suprised how many crashes old drivers can cause.

Well it's only been a day, but I've had no crashes since installing new drivers from the ATI website. Fingers crossed...

I had bluescreen problems for months. i was ready to take apart my PC and sell it... then i updated to SP1 windows 7... what do you know - fixed it lmao.

Well I had no blue screens since I updated the graphics card drivers. However I just had one about 5 minutes ago. I am suspecting my SSD drive, I don't know why but it "feels like" it's that. Sounds weird I know, but what should I do next to find the cause of this annoying issue? Do SSD cards have their own drivers? Here's a screenshot (using my camera lol) of the blue screen http://postimage.org/image/1gkghpw6c/

Well, the blue screens are coming back and I suspect the OCZ drives in general have problems. There are lots of problems the same as mine in the OCZ technology forums. Has anyone else experienced the same issues and managed to fix it? Should I return the drive to overclockers as faulty and request a different brand?
