Sorted!!
well.... turns out, in my noobness and eagerness to get the cpu coller fans/ radiator in place, i effectivley covered over the 2 x 4pin cpu connector ports on the mobo.
quickly took the radiator off, plugged the 2 ports in and off it went, booted straight into bios. connected all ram, gpu, ssd back up and all is working fine now,
win 7 installed and running like a beast.
thanks everyone for the swift assistance and getting this sorted for me. much appreciated. time to download diablo 3!
