Ive been having trouble with a system i built for someone. I have had the ram replaced because faulty ram but now im kind of going on its more the cpu!

Ive tried a differnt cpu in and it doesnt crash or blue screen.

I did some prime95 on it and it keeps just restarting but i shoved in a old 1.8ghz one and its not even crashed yet!

So question is. is it my cpu??? for sure? lol

Im using the e6500. should i replace it or get differnt model? got £57 budget if replace with differnt.

Is the motherboard compatible with the E6500, does it have the latest bios installed, did you load the BIOS defaults, is the ram setup on auto or manually with correct voltages etc...

Need more details, Motherboard, RAM and PSU for starters...

Asus p5qpl-am
did have ocz 1x2gb but now 1 stick of corsair 2gb xms2 800mhz
350watt basiq power antec
500gb weston digital cavier black.

Its got new bios loaded. not sure about the ram. I did try setting it with the ocz but didnt make any differnece

Well its not the tempretures. Never goes past 55. not the psu as just tested it on differnt one and does same. Just changed it back over to gigabyte motherboard and works fine. Could the cpu of blown the motherboard?
