New build check please + advice.

Looking at building a new pc soon, going to be keeping my X1800XT for the time being as im going to wait and see what graphics card im going to buy (probably be ATI).

Would this be a decent combo:

Would this cooler fit on that board? And is the board a good choice for Crossfire (take it that it doesnt do SLI also?).

PSU i have at the moment is an Enermax 600w ATX 12v 2.0, would this be ok or will it need upgrading also?

Any help/advice would be great.
 
I wont really be overclocking no, or at least not very much, about £350-£400 on a cpu/mb/ram/cooler would be ideal! If i can use my current psu that would be good also :P

Notice that you need the Freezer 7 Pro for Intel, not the 64 Pro.

The above will give you identical performance for less money. If you want to spend up to the 400 limit, I can do that too. :)

Your current PSU should do fine.
 
Whats the difference between the two sets of ocz ram, the ones i picked are slightly faster (timings) for £10 more?

Thanks for the headsup on the cooler/board as well, would have been a big mistake to make with the ddr3 board and dd2 memory, i need glasses i think! :eek:

Notice the motherboard doesnt have SLI or Crossfire support though?
 
The difference is the timings and that silly cooler, but if you're not into overclocking you'll never get the RAM anywhere near its rated speed, so fussing over timings and such that'll never get used is not worth it. It's an easy way to pocket 10 quid.

It doesn't do Crossfire. How likely is it that you'll shell out for two graphics cards? I'm guessing that it's pretty low since usually a single newer faster card is better than a pair of slower cards. SLi 'boards cannot run Crossfire and vice versa, not officially at least. Sometimes there are hacked drivers available to make a 'board built for one work with the other, but that's more hassle than it's worth.
 
Read a review saying that the artic cooler 7 doesnt quite fit properly on the board! Is there another board thats maybe a bit more feature rich thats would be another good choice? Any preference on the OCZ over Crucial Ballistix 2gig sticks also aside from price? Quite like the warrenty you get on crucial, sent some back in the past and new ones were her next day was impressed!
