I'm going to be building a new setup and I just wanted to check everyones thoughts on components as I've been a bit out of touch over the last couple of years and I wanted to make sure I have got everything right!

i7 Sandybridge 2600K OEM
ASUS P8P67-M PRO Socket 1155 (Will be the new version)
GeIL 12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz VALUE PLUS Triple Channel (Not sure on this, I want plenty as it's so cheap but I expect there's better options!)
HIS ATI Radeon HD 6950 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
OCZ Vertex 3 120GB SSD (For OS/Games)
Pioneer BDR-206 Blu-Ray
Lian-Li PC-V345 Case
Corsair 620W Modular PSU (from current machine)
2 * 750gb Samsung drives (from current machine)

I wanted something compact hence the M-ATX board & Lian-Li V345 case. I'm not sure yet what to do with regards to cooling but I'd like it to be nice and quiet - should I just go with one of the monstorous heatsinks (NH-U9/Megahelms), and if so, would I be able to go fanless or would I still need a 120mm on there just in case? Also, does the graphics card seem a good bet? I'm only an ocassional gamer but it will be at 1920x1080 when I do, and I'm not planning on going down the SLI route.

Graphics card is decent - can be flashed to a HD6970, a very fast card!

One of the monster coolers will not fit in a m-ATX case :p You'll need something like a Scythe Shuriken (air) or Antec Kuhler (closed water) for cooling.

What do you use PC for? You mentioned occasional gaming, but that makes the i7 and 8GB of RAM completely pointless, as

Well I didn't think they would but it seems to be fairly common on PC-V345 builds - it seems a fairly bulky m-ATX case.

i see your point about the i7/8gb but budget isn't a big issue - I will be using it for photo editing too so I should be able to make use of the power
