New Build chip.

The new pc im planning, will have one of the ASUS x-99 boards, either rampage extreme or Rampage v 10..

I'm planning on booting from an intel 750 PCI SDD... and i'm mightily confused about the PCI slots.

I intend one nvidia gtx1080, but would like the option for 2.

It appears my chip selection has a bearing on this, 40 lanes or something ?

Does a particular chip.. Haswell, or Broadwell. gain me some advantage ?

No those chips have the same number of lanes.

40 Maximum for anything above 5820 and 6800K.
