Hi,

I am planning a new build in the next 2-3 months and have never had much luck with fans, fail to quickly, noise, so I tend to choose fans that are good quality but not to high in price, i.e. £25+.

My case will be a Lian Li 011 Air Mini - White.
Backup case would be the Lian Li O11D Evo.
I have not yet decided on a CPU cooler, whether Air or AIO.

CPU to cool would be the, Intel i7-12700K.

The fans I am leaning towards are the Alpenfohn Wing Boost 3 RGB.
140mm (500-1500rpm) - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/alpe...-140mm-addressable-rgb-pwm-fan-fg-02p-al.html
120mm High Speed (500-2200rpm) - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/alpe...essable-rgb-high-speed-pwm-fan-fg-02m-al.html
120mm (500-1600rpm) - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/alpe...-120mm-addressable-rgb-pwm-fan-fg-02h-al.html

Intake
Front Fans - 2x 140mm
Bottom Fans - 3x 120mm High Speed.

Exhaust
Rear - 1x 120mm
Top - 2x 140mm

If I use and AIO it would use the 120mm High Speed fans and no AIO 2x 140mm, as exhaust.

If I use heatsink it would be the Noctua NH-U12A chromax.black, no need to replace the fans.

I want to see if anyone has any experience with the Alpenfohn fans, as I just have the reviews to go on, and if my fan configuration is sound?

I am not wedded to aRGB but prefer RGB fans that use the standard 3 pin connector than a proprietary one.

First I would decide if you'd getting a rgb aio cooler for the cpu and get fans to match the cooler.

In terms of AIO I am looking at the following.

Lian Li GALAHAD AIO 240MM HIGH PERFORMANCE RGB CPU WATER COOLER - WHITE
Phanteks GLACIER ONE 240MPH ALL IN ONE CPU WATER COOLER HALOS D-RGB WHITE
Aplenfohn GLACIER WATER 240 WHITE HIGH SPEED ARGB

The stock fans should be OK on the first two, but I can swap them out, and the Alpenfohn AIO use's the Wing Boost 3 Fan.

Generally cases don't need both intake and exhaust fans. Using both is similar to using push / pull on radiator or cooler. Exception is sometimes exhaust fan/fans will help create case airflow paths that improve temps, but that's the exception. Normally hi-pressure rated intakes fans in front (and maybe bottom as well) with all openings not covered by these intake fans in their mounting side of case sealed (to keep airflow fans move into case moving on thru case, not leaking around in front of fan to go in circles) give good case airflow.
