Building a new pc mainly for video editing and a bit of gaming.
Most of the video will be shot using an action cam Drift Ghost S in 1080p.
The editing software i will be using is power director 12 on 64bit windows 7 professional.

Please check my components and advice any changes you think may help make a better system

i7 4790k 4Ghz quad core
Corsair H80i liquid cooler
Asus Z97 pro
Corsair vengence 4 x 4Gb DDR3 2133 MHz
Fractal design define R4 with window
Samsung evo 840 SSD 250Gb - OS and progs
Seagate barracuda HDD 1Tb 7200 rpm - data files
Already have psu from old pc win power plus 750w

Read many reviews, blogs etc and cannot decide whether i need a video card or not. I own an nvidia 7800GT from my older pc and could use this??

Many thanks

You might as well use the iGPU in the CPU mate, the HD 4600 graphics are better than that 7800GT.

What is your max budget on this?

I wasn't sure if the 7800GT would be any good and i think its longer than i think when i built my current pc. Was good in its day but i think things have moved on a lot. Budget wise i would have up-to £200 to spend on a GPU but with so many models its confusing what to choose. I know the on board Intels are good but keep seeing arguments against and that a separate card is better especially with cuda?

Probably a GTX 760 at that price range. What is your max budget including everything (GPU, main components etc)

I wouldn't trust that Winpower psu with new hardware :(

+1 On another thread another user had a Winpower PSU and they were advised to change it iirc
