OK so here are the things I am pretty much settled on getting and wanted a sanity check. The machine is used heavily for gaming, video rendering, photo stuff, work, host for multiple heavy usage VM's, is on pretty much 24/7.

Also worth pointing out, I don't like ASUS products anymore and case wise, I like this one - no others (including the coolermaster range) have met my requirements.

I will be doing some overclocking and possibly in the future, adding another graphics card and more watercooling.

* **Motherboard** MSI Z77A-GD65 Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

* **CPU** Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail

* **Memory** GeIL Black Dragon 16GB (2x8G DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (GD316GB1600C11DC)

* **SSD** OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive (VTX4-25SAT3-128G)

* **Graphics Card** HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H795QC3G2M)*

* **Case** Xigmatek Elysium Full Tower Windowed Case - Black

* **Power** Silent Pro M700 (already have)

* **Cooling CPU** Corsair H100i Hydro Liquid CPU Cooler & 1450rpm SP120 Quiet Edition Twin Pack TTL Bundle #17054 (specialtech)

So far it has been suggested to swap the SSD for a different brand and also to get faster memory. I am also looking for different case ideas based around the following requirements :

Must have side window
Must have space for up to 7 or 8 HDD's
Must easily fit a h100i watercooling loop
should have cable managemant through the back (ie gromits in the tray to hide cables)
Will be potentially running XFIre in the future and possibly more watercooling
PSU at the bottom

The Elysium is a nice case, i have used 2 on last builds for friends, mine is nearly 18 mnths old and i still like working with it :D
 
You can't have everything. Either a gigantic case with plenty of room for your drives and what not, or something more restrictive. It's a water cooling case first and foremost. If it's too big, then check out the HAF-X (which is also quite big).

With either, you will probably need some PSU cable extensions as well.

If running crossfire, check if the PSU is adequate (PCIE cables, power delivered).

The 500R is designed for a H100, but fails on your HDD requirements (6 HDDs).
