I've finished building my new rig and thought I'd offer thanks to those helped answer my questions and offered advice. Spec is in the sig and here are some pics of the beast.

The Noctuna is huge but a great cooler.
Thermaltake Kandalf - big case!
The CPU is idling at 25 C with no overclocking yet, which will be up next once I've got Vista working how I want it.
