SO.. It's been 6 days since I've been trying to sell a 6900XT which I used for 11 days. Well, had it installed in my system for 11 days, not used for a 11 day's straight.

Anyway.. Point is, the card isn't selling.. So it got me thinking about looking to buy components needed for a new build for my step brother if I gifted him the 6900XT?

What would you guys do for the specs? I know my step bro does a lot of stuff in Linux, so he'll appreciate the AMD hardware I'm sure. I don't know his budget, but lets say between £700 - £1000?

I appreciate any ideas. Thanks!

Thank you.. I will see what he says.

For a new build within a budget of £700 to £1000, you could consider the following components:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X or Ryzen 7 5800X

Motherboard: ASRock B450M-HDV or ASUS B450-F ROG Strix

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4-3200 or G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB DDR4-3600

Storage: Kingston A2000 1TB NVMe SSD

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060

PSU: EVGA 600W 80+ Bronze

Case: NZXT H510 Elite or Phanteks Eclipse P400A

For the operating system, you could consider using Linux-based distributions like Ubuntu, Debian, or Fedora, which are well-suited for development and programming work.

It's worth noting that this is just one possible configuration, and that the exact components you choose will depend on your stepbrother's specific needs and preferences. For example, if he plans on doing a lot of video editing or 3D rendering, he may want a higher-end GPU or more RAM.

It's also important to consider that the prices of the components are dynamic and they may change based on the market. However, this build should give you an idea of what you can get for the budget you have in mind.
