Also considering having a SSD in for my op system to go on, but was informed 2 2TB HDD in RAID0 is just as good, wanted to know your opinions of this build idea & will they fit in either case. Looking for a real top notch air flow case so any other suggestions for gfx card & case would be appreciated, il be using Windows 7 & it'll be purely for gaming this machine will.

Go HAF 932, Rampage Extreme if you want to overclock, the i7 920, Get a h50 cooler to go with it, The 5850 will be fine a 5870 will be better if you can stretch that far, Dominator is good ram but not really necessary just go for some OCZ which is a bit cheaper :/, Well SSD are overpriced and plus 2 Samsung f3 1tb in RAID will be almost as quick and lot more hdd space and i would go for the HX850 over the TX950 as the HX series are modular.
Hope that helps :)
I would go for the Coolermaster ATCS 840 if you can afford it, Its the HAF 932 inside but a lot nicer outside :)

Perfect answer really, would you go for AMD instead of Intel & NVidia instead of ATi? But I was considering over clocking again but dont know if to leave it stock or go for I5 and clock that? Also what about crossfire? Worth looking into with the 5870 in?

Well if your thinking of staying i7 then don't get AMD however if you are thinking of an i5 then I would still say go intel but it won't have any 6 core CPU in the future but the similar priced Am3 setup ie Phenom II will have 6 core CPU. So in short the i7 is te best and will have 6 core, i5 won't and AMD will so basically i7 and AMD are more future proof, The i5 is still a very good CPU.
Ati are the current GFX leaders because nvidia have not released anything new for over a year... Nvidia however are going to be releasing a new card next year but I'm assuming that you want it now. regarding crossfire if you want to do 5870 crossfire I would suggest getting a 5970 but if not then just get a 5850 or 5870
