Hi, I'm considering building my 2nd PC within the next 6 weeks or so. I have been umming and arring about building a mITX PC as I like the form factor and space is a concern of mine. Currently, I have a 75litre case which is like having a mini fridge on the desk with you.

I have put together a build I think I can work with. unsure of the AIO currently so I may need to rethink that. I would love the input of the community to see what I can do to squeeze every bit of performance out of my budget which will be around £1500-£1700. Currently, I'm using a 3600x + 5700xt which is starting to struggle with some of the games I'd like to play. I am also using a 3440 x 1440p (ultra-wide) monitor. If there are any small (30litres or less) builds for the money + performance then feel free to add them, also if anyone has a fractal design ridge build that would be ACE! I love that case but I do understand the form factor can be difficult.

PC will be used for trading, web design and gaming.
Games include CoD + Warzone, Helldivers 2, Cyberpunk, Hogwarts Legacy, Destiny 2, The Finals, R6, CS2 etc.

Hi.

You could drop in your pc the 5800x3d and also upgrade the GPU to give you what you need.

List the spec of your pc please.

agree, the 5800x3d performs similarly to the 7600/x
unless you're upgrading to the 7800x3d, you're better off just dropping in the 5800x3d instead of a full platform upgrade

the 7900gre is a nice upgrade from the 5700xt :)

my current specs are:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
Storage: Samsung 870 Evo 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Video Card: PowerColor Red Devil Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Video Card
Case: Asus TUF Gaming GT501 ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: SeaSonic FOCUS Plus 750 Gold 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

I built this back in 2019/2020 if I remember correctly. I considered a 5800x3d however I think going down the AM5 route would help 'future-proof' the system more than AM4. Could be wrong though?

As of now, the 5800x3d is approx. £70 more than the 7600x hence why I thought going Am5 might be better use of my money?

just have to wait for another ebay 20% off sale or could also consider the 5700x3d
another option would be to buy it used (which would be my first option tbh...my current 5800x3d was bought used  )

In some respects yes but when calculate the cost of a whole new system value is not so much.

Alternatively grab yourself the 7900gre which is about 80% faster than your 5700xt first and drop it in your pc, see how it performs as it may give you what you need.

Then you can do a full upgrade or drop in upgrades like the 5800x3d as you see fit.
