I'm in the middle of my first ever 'serious' build and taking things very steadily. A bit tense but also perversely enjoyable :)
Having felt very pleased at successfully placing the Megahalem on the i7 920 followed by the Corsair Dominator 2000mhz cooler next to it I think I can see a problem!

The ram cooler is obviously going to affect the flow through the Megahalem. So some questions assuming that my assumption is correct.

Should I turn the cpu cooler through 90 degrees so that the air is being pushed towards the large fan at the top of the Antec 1200 case? I also have another Noctua fan; should I use this to pull air through as well or will one suffice?

Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

You could put your fan onto the other side of the cooler so it pulls and have a look at the temps....depends how high you want to overclock. Then if needed add another fan to push

It's DDR3 at 1.65V not DDR2 @ 2.1V+, it really doesn't need the RAM cooler, especially in an antec 1200. Also if you do remove the RAM cooler, then the CPU fans will do the job (not that it's needed).

If there is anything in there that might need some extra cooling it would be the Northbridge.

I was rather hoping somebody would say that!
So would it be likely that I would need another cpu fan pulling or will the case exhaust fans in close proximity suffice?

Thanks for all your replies. Much appreciated.

I've never like these sort of block coolers.

If I ever got one I would stick another one on the back even if it didn't require it
