New build - CPU Fan Fualt

Hi guys, done a new build.
It goes into BIOS and says CPU Fan Fault in red. I can play around in BIOS, CPU core at 26c and fan is spinning fine. Wont can past BIOS for love nor money.

Any advice?

Asus board by any chance? It happens when the speed of the cpu fan drops below the cpu fan limit set in the bios. If so depending on the options in the bios there are a couple of ways to fix this. Go into the monitoring section of the bios and disable CPU Fan Speed monitoring. All boards should have this option in the bios. The other way which is also in the monitoring section of the bios is CPU Fan Speed Low Limit which you can set to 200-600rpm in 100rpm increments or it can be disabled altogether. Not all boards will have this option though.

You should find similar options in the bios of other manufacturers boards but they may be named something different.

Is the fan plugged into the cpu header on the mobo a pwm fan? If not that might be why also.

Yes plugged into CPU header.
Its just a Cheap Artic Frezzer 7 Rev 2.
Its a Asus Z87-k board so will try that in a bit Pastey.
