New build, cpu fan stuck on 100%

Morning,

Ive just finished my new build and ive managed to sort out all the little problems I have encountered so far apart from this one.

Basically unless I use the Asrock tuning utillity to alter it the cpu fan is on 100% all the time. I have changed the fan setting in the bios to auto from 100% and I assumed this would sort it.

Motherboard: Asrock Extreme 4 gen 3
CPU: I5 2500K
CPU cooler: Gelid Tranquillo.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Do you have the CPU fan plugged into the CPU fan header or just a standard fan header?

Hi thanks for the reply,

I found the problem, I set the fan to auto, but the target fan speed to 100% thinking once it went above the target temp the fan would go to 100%. The MB seems to work opposite to my brain

. I've dropped the target speed to 10% and it’s as quiet as a mouse until under load.

No worries, glad you figured it out. All you need to do now is update your sig and you'll be good to go

Do enjoy your new build - just finished my SB build as well, loving it. Such a jump from my old E8500

All I need now is the next 3 months off to play everything that's coming out
