New build CPU & GC advice

Hi,

been out of the game for a while but am looking at a new build. I've been trolling for a while now and know it's been done to death but if my max res is only going to be on a 22" 1680x1050 would I be able to get away with an 8800GT or would you suggest a GTS 512 has more legs?

Am I better to take some from my CPU budget (Q6600 G0) and change that to something like an E8200 and then up the GT to a GTS? or won't I notice the extra grunt at 1680x1050.

(takeing Crysis as the target, if I can run that acceptably then I know it'l last for a while).

If we're talking pure Crysis fps performance, you'll get faster with a e8200 and a GTS. There isn't much between the GTS and the GT, but I find it a little more capable at 1680 x 1050, particularly in Crysis. Just make sure you get the cheapest G92 GTS you can find.
