Hey guys just to clarify, if the mobo has 8 pin and 4 pin CPU headers I only need the 8 pin connecting right? I have tried 2 psu's in breadboard with an MSI a-pro and 10600k CPU with 1 stick DDR 4 RAM and I get no power. I tried jumping reset and power but completely dead.

OC is closed today which is a shame because I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs
 
So have you managed to try both 8pin and 4pin installed?

I'm pretty sure the 4 pin is for a more powerful overclock
 
Check the cpu socket for bent pins Any power led lights on the motherboard ?

Not sure about the power cables but the motherboard manual should tell you.

Does the board have any fault led lights or codes ? Gigabyte has red led light for CPU,mobo etc and Asus has fancier LED codes .

Is the psu fan spinning, Have you done the paperclip test?

Any leds showing on the motherboard?
 
Dead. Deader than a dead thing on deadsday. No bent pins. Tried both ram single in all slots. Cooler is connected for all tests. I put the PSU back in the existing pc and it is working fine. I have reseated cpu. All headers are fully plugged in.

I think I need to rma board and cpu
 
Just a quick update. I am rma the board and chip. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of the problem. I have no doubt as I have a lot of respect for ocuk. I hate spanners in the works but that's something I have to deal with lol
