New Build do I wait

Started to buy components a few months back

Case, Fans , SSD etc with the view to go Intel Z97 chipset,

then I read Skylake is coming with a change to Z170 chipset,

I want the system to replace that in my sig, so its a complete new build no real upgrade path, building to play games such as Elite Dangerous and next gen MMO Landmark and Everquest next

Do I go current tech and save a few pounds , or go to new tech and build in a little more future proof with potentional Cpu changes in 2 years?

Any Z97+i5 you buy now (and there are CPU+Board bundles instock to save a few more £££) will be a huge upgrade over what you currently have.

while it might be a big upgrade, i would still recommend holding out a few extra months if you can till skylake comes out, just so your on the latest chipset with DDR4 etc it will last you a good amount of time.
