Yea yea, I know it is impossible to predict the requirments for next gen games.

I'v been on the fence about upgrading my pc for some time now, but my sis this week has indicated she wants to upgrade her single core P4 @ 2.6Ghz so I will be handing my machine down to her.

Which means I finally have an excuse to get a new machine.

Planning on this:

3570k (Clock it as high as it will safely go)
8Gb Samsung Green ram
GTX Asus OC 670
Noctua Cooler
Gigabyte Z77X-D3H mobo

I have no idea how powerfull the new CPU's and GPU's are. do you think this spec has enough power looking forward to next gen games?

It seems I keep cpu's for 4 years ish. Do you think the 3570k has 4 good years in it?

Well games are generally limited on how power hungry they are unti lthe next gen of consoles come out to the best of my knowledge :)
That will be keeping you happy at 1080p for sometime methinks :D

You don't need that samsung RAM. On the 1155 socket 1600Mhz is ample, the CPU OC is done via the multiplier.

GB mobo you suggested, does SLI/Xfire. I've used the 7850 as it's cheaper (still has plenty of VRAM) and they OC very well. I included a 700W PSU as this would be required to Xfire the 7850 and it's a bargain for a modular PSU....you can remove it from the spec, I just don't know what PSU you currently own.

Noctua coolers are very good but expensive and rather large, have youy checked they will fit in your case? There are plenty of cheaper alternatives
