New build - does this look ok?

if he's looking for a gaming system then maybe look at swapping the processor for the i3-2120, H61 motherboard, smaller psu (unless he's likely to get 2 graphics cards), swap the memory for dual channel rather than quad channel and then put the money saved into a 7850 graphics card.

Isn't a dual core going to limit it a bit for games that are processor heavy? I know GTA for example runs far better on quad cores.

If you got him an i3-2120 and a Z77 motherboard he could upgrade the processor to an i5-3750k later on as on a £700 you may struggle for a good Quad setup.
You are right in saying that console ports are a lot more CPU intensive - but you find he may thank you for getting an intel build over the bulldozer cores which were a bit of a flop for gaming.
